| 5 | WHEREAS, the University of Florida Men's Basketball Team |
| 6 | has compiled 23 wins during the 2004-2005 season, its seventh |
| 7 | consecutive 20-win season after achieving 20 wins only five |
| 8 | times in the preceding 77 seasons, and |
| 9 | WHEREAS, under Coach Billy Donovan, the University of |
| 10 | Florida Gators have won two Southeastern Conference regular |
| 11 | season championships and have made one appearance in the |
| 12 | National Collegiate Athletic Association Championship game, and |
| 13 | WHEREAS, the Florida Gators defeated the University of |
| 14 | Alabama 68-62 and Mississippi State University 80-64 to reach |
| 15 | the SEC Tournament final, and |
| 16 | WHEREAS, the Florida Gators defeated the Kentucky Wildcats |
| 17 | 70-53 in Atlanta, Georgia, to earn their first-ever SEC |
| 18 | Tournament Championship, securing their seventh consecutive NCAA |
| 19 | Tournament appearance, and |
| 20 | WHEREAS, the Florida Gators will face Ohio University in |
| 21 | the first round of the 2005 NCAA Division I Basketball |
| 22 | Championship in Nashville, Tennessee, on March 18, 2005, NOW, |

| 25 | Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of |

| 28 | That the House of Representatives salutes the University of |
| 29 | Florida Men's Basketball Team for its sustained excellence and |
| 30 | for winning the 2005 Southeastern Conference Tournament |
| 31 | Championship. |
| 32 | BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be |
| 33 | presented to the University of Florida Men's Basketball Team as |
| 34 | a tangible token of the sentiments expressed herein. |
