| 5 | WHEREAS, more than 2.8 million Floridians, 21 percent of |
| 6 | the state's nonelderly population, including 15.5 percent of |
| 7 | Florida's children and 16.4 percent of the state's working |
| 8 | families, do not have health insurance, and |
| 9 | WHEREAS, uninsured Floridians have limited access to proper |
| 10 | health care, and |
| 11 | WHEREAS, Floridians deserve to have access to the |
| 12 | medications they need in order to care for their health, and |
| 13 | WHEREAS, in January 2005, the Together Rx Access Card |
| 14 | program was launched by 10 pharmaceutical companies to help low- |
| 15 | income, uninsured individuals and families gain access to |
| 16 | prescription medications and products at savings of 25 percent |
| 17 | to 40 percent, and |
| 18 | WHEREAS, this free, easy-to-use Together Rx Access Card is |
| 19 | offered by the following pharmaceutical companies: Novartis, |
| 20 | GlaxoSmithKline, Abbott Laboratories, AstraZeneca, Bristol-Myers |
| 21 | Squibb Company, Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, sanofi-aventis Group, |
| 22 | Takeda, and TAP Pharmaceutical Products Inc., NOW, THEREFORE, |

| 24 | Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of |
| 25 | Florida: |

| 27 | That the Together Rx Access Card program and participating |
| 28 | pharmaceutical companies are commended for their efforts to help |
| 29 | uninsured Florida residents gain better access to prescription |
| 30 | products. |
