11 The Committee on Ways and Means (Campbell) recommended the
12 following amendment:

14 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
15 On page 42, between lines 14 and 15,
16
17 insert:
18 Section 7. Broward County Medicaid Authority;
19 creation; membership; powers.--
20 (1) The Broward County Medicaid Authority is created
21 for the purpose of periodically reviewing the progress of
22 implementing the Medicaid managed care pilot program in
23 Broward County under s. 409.91211, Florida Statutes.
24 (2) The Agency for Health Care Administration is
25 required to report to the authority, as requested by the
26 authority, on the status, plans, and issues of implementing
27 the Medicaid managed care pilot program.
28 (3) The authority shall host quarterly public hearings
29 to hear public testimony from Broward County residents on the
30 effects of the Medicaid managed care pilot program.
31 (4) The authority shall submit its findings and

1 recommendations to the Legislature.
2 (5) The authority is composed of six members and must
3 include a county commissioner appointed by the chair of the
4 Broward County Commission, a judge appointed by the Chief
5 Judge of the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit, a member of the
6 Senate Broward County delegation appointed by the President of
7 the Senate, a member of the House of Representatives' Broward
8 County delegation appointed by the Speaker of the House of
9 Representatives, and a medical doctor and a hospital
10 representative each appointed by the chair of the Broward
11 County Commission.
12 (6) The Broward County Medicaid Authority is abolished
13 6 months after the Medicaid managed care pilot program is
14 terminated.
