| 6 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
| 7 |

| 8 | Section 1. Subsection (4) of section 626.171, Florida |
| 9 | Statutes, is amended to read: |
| 10 | 626.171 Application for license as an agent, customer |
| 11 | representative, adjuster, service representative, managing |
| 12 | general agent, or reinsurance intermediary.-- |
| 13 | (4) An application for a license as an agent, customer |
| 14 | representative, adjuster, service representative, managing |
| 15 | general agent, or reinsurance intermediary must be accompanied |
| 16 | by a set of the individual applicant's fingerprints, or, if the |
| 17 | applicant is not an individual, by a set of the fingerprints of |
| 18 | the sole proprietor, majority owner, partners, officers, and |
| 19 | directors, on a form adopted by rule of the department and |
| 20 | accompanied by the fingerprint processing fee set forth in s. |
| 21 | 624.501. Fingerprints shall be used to investigate the |
| 22 | applicant's qualifications pursuant to s. 626.201. The |
| 23 | Fingerprints may shall be taken at by a law enforcement agency |
| 24 | or other department-approved entity and shall be available at |
| 25 | all designated examination centers. |
| 26 | Section 2. This act shall take effect January 1, 2007. |
