11  Senator Bennett moved the following amendment:

13         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
14         On page 70, line 10, through
15            page 71, line 31, delete those lines
16  
17  and insert:  
18         Section 24.  Subsection (12) of section 1001.43,
19  Florida Statutes, is renumbered as subsection (13), and a new
20  subsection (12) is added to that section, to read:
21         1001.43  Supplemental powers and duties of district
22  school board.--The district school board may exercise the
23  following supplemental powers and duties as authorized by this
24  code or State Board of Education rule.
25         (12)  AFFORDABLE HOUSING.--A district school board may
26  use portions of school sites purchased within the State
27  Requirements for Educational Facilities guidelines, land
28  deemed not usable for educational purposes because of location
29  or other factors, or land declared as surplus by the board, to
30  provide sites for affordable housing for teachers and other
31  district personnel independently or in conjunction with other
