  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to community colleges; amending

  3         s. 1001.65, F.S.; providing that a community

  4         college's program of intercollegiate athletics

  5         may include intercollegiate football; providing

  6         an effective date.

  8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  9  

10         Section 1.  Subsection (8) of section 1001.65, Florida

11  Statutes, is amended to read:

12         1001.65  Community college presidents; powers and

13  duties.--The president is the chief executive officer of the

14  community college, shall be corporate secretary of the

15  community college board of trustees, and is responsible for

16  the operation and administration of the community college.

17  Each community college president shall:

18         (8)  Administer the community college's program of

19  intercollegiate athletics, which may include intercollegiate

20  football.

21         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2006.
