| 18 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: | 
| 19 | 
 | 
| 20 | Section 1.  Section 125.022, Florida Statutes, is created | 
| 21 | to read: | 
| 22 | 125.022  Development permits.--When a county denies an | 
| 23 | application for a development permit, the county shall give | 
| 24 | written notice to the applicant. The notice must include a | 
| 25 | citation to the applicable portions of an ordinance, rule, | 
| 26 | statute, or other legal authority for the denial of the permit. | 
| 27 | As used in this section, the term "development permit" has the | 
| 28 | same meaning as in s. 163.3164. | 
| 29 | Section 2.  Section 166.033, Florida Statutes, is created | 
| 30 | to read: | 
| 31 | 166.033  Development permits.--When a municipality denies | 
| 32 | an application for a development permit, the municipality shall | 
| 33 | give written notice to the applicant. The notice must include a | 
| 34 | citation to the applicable portions of an ordinance, rule, | 
| 35 | statute, or other legal authority for the denial of the permit. | 
| 36 | As used in this section, the term "development permit" has the | 
| 37 | same meaning as in s. 163.3164. | 
| 38 | Section 3.  This act shall take effect October 1, 2006. |
