  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to natural gas; providing that

  3         any commercial or residential construction

  4         constructed after a certain date must allow the

  5         choice of electric or natural gas power, if

  6         available; providing an effective date.

  7  

  8         WHEREAS, natural gas is a proven source of power in

  9  this state and in the nation, and

10         WHEREAS, natural gas utilities have quantities of

11  natural gas in storage, and

12         WHEREAS, natural gas is growing in popularity in the

13  consumer market, NOW, THEREFORE,

14  

15  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

16  

17         Section 1.  Effective October 1, 2006, any commercial

18  or residential construction that is constructed in this state

19  must allow the choice of electric or natural gas power, if

20  available.

21         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

22  law.
