| 8 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
| 9 |
|
| 10 | Section 1. Paragraphs (e) through (l) of subsection (3) of |
| 11 | section 1003.03, Florida Statutes, are redesignated as |
| 12 | paragraphs (f) through (m), respectively, and a new paragraph |
| 13 | (e) is added to that subsection to read: |
| 14 | 1003.03 Maximum class size.-- |
| 15 | (3) IMPLEMENTATION OPTIONS.--District school boards must |
| 16 | consider, but are not limited to, implementing the following |
| 17 | items in order to meet the constitutional class size maximums |
| 18 | described in subsection (1) and the two-student-per-year |
| 19 | reduction required in subsection (2): |
| 20 | (e) Use co-teaching as an instructional strategy in which |
| 21 | two or more teachers in a classroom share responsibility for |
| 22 | planning, delivering, and evaluating instruction for students in |
| 23 | the class. Co-teaching may be used in determining the teacher- |
| 24 | to-student ratio for purpose of compliance with the class size |
| 25 | requirements of this section. |
| 26 | Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2006. |
