1 Senate Resolution
2 A resolution recognizing and commending Suzy
3 Nothhouse.

5 WHEREAS, Suzy Nothhouse, an 85-year old resident of
6 Estero, Florida, has maintained physical fitness and a
7 competitive spirit in persisting with her passion for the
8 sport of swimming, and
9 WHEREAS, Ms. Nothhouse competed in the Senior Olympics
10 Summer National Games in Pittsburgh, in the 85-89 age
11 division, winning a bronze medal in the 50-yard breast stroke
12 and finishing sixth and eighth respectively, in the 50-yard
13 backstroke and freestyle, and
14 WHEREAS, Ms. Nothhouse prepared for the Senior Olympics
15 by swimming a quarter-mile 6 days a week in the 4 weeks prior
16 to the competition, and
17 WHEREAS, Ms. Nothhouse's competitive achievements bring
18 great honor and inspiration to the residents of Estero and the
19 State of Florida, NOW, THEREFORE,

21 Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:
22
23 That the Florida Senate recognizes and commends Suzy
24 Nothhouse for her exemplary competitive achievement in winning
25 a bronze medal in swimming at the Senior Olympics Summer
26 National Games, demonstrating that age need not impede an
27 individual's fitness or desire to compete and succeed in
28 sports.
29 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution,
30 with Seal of the Senate affixed, be presented to Suzy
