| 5 | Section 10. The Legislative Committee on Intergovernmental |
| 6 | Relations shall conduct a study regarding the amendment of |
| 7 | Article VII, Section 4 of the State Constitution to provide for |
| 8 | assessment of new homestead property at less than just value if |
| 9 | purchased within 1 year after the sale of homestead property. |
| 10 | The Department of Revenue and all other state agencies shall |
| 11 | provide data and support as requested by the committee for the |
| 12 | purpose of producing the study. All local governments are |
| 13 | encouraged to assist and cooperate with the committee as |
| 14 | necessary. A report shall be submitted to the Governor, the |
| 15 | President of the Senate, and the Speaker of the House of |
| 16 | Representatives by December 1, 2006. |
