| 621 | hereby expressly designated as a water control district in |

| 625 | (2) In accordance with this charter and chapters 189 and |
| 626 | 298, Florida Statutes, to the extent not inconsistent with this |
| 627 | charter, the district is governed by a three-member board, |
| 628 | elected on a 1-acre, 1-vote basis by the landowners in the |
| 629 | district; however, landowners owning less than 1 acre shall be |
| 630 | entitled to one vote. Landowners with more than 1 acre shall be |
| 631 | entitled to one additional vote for any fraction of an acre |
| 632 | greater than 1/2 acre owned, when all of the landowner's acreage |
| 633 | has been aggregated for purposes of voting. The governing board |
| 634 | of the district shall be designated the "Board of Supervisors of |
| 635 | Hobe-St. Lucie Conservancy District" and shall be composed of |
| 636 | three persons, who shall be residents of the state and citizens |
| 637 | of the United States. The membership and organization of the |
| 638 | board shall be as set forth in this charter and chapter 298, |
| 639 | Florida Statutes, provided this charter controls with respect to |
| 640 | any inconsistency. |
| 641 | Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law. |
