| 5 | Section 2. Section 624.46226, Florida Statutes, is created |
| 6 | to read: |
| 7 | 624.46226 Public housing authorities self-insurance funds; |
| 8 | exemption from taxation and assessments.-- |
| 9 | (1) Any two or more public housing authorities in the |
| 10 | state as defined in chapter 421 may also create a self-insurance |
| 11 | fund pursuant to s. 624.4622 for the purpose of self-insuring |
| 12 | real or personal property of every kind and every interest in |
| 13 | such property against loss or damage from any hazard or cause |
| 14 | and against any loss consequential to such loss or damage, |
| 15 | provided all the provisions of s. 624.4622 are met. |
| 16 | (2) Any public housing authority in the state as defined |
| 17 | in chapter 421 that is a member of a self-insurance fund |
| 18 | pursuant to this section shall be exempt from the taxes and |
| 19 | assessments imposed under ss. 215.555, 624.509, 627.351(6), and |
| 20 | 631.57. |
