  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to a review under the Open

  3         Government Sunset Review Act; repealing s. 36,

  4         ch. 2001-140, Laws of Florida, relating to the

  5         authority of a local government to conduct

  6         audits for the purpose of ensuring compliance

  7         with respect to the public service tax;

  8         repealing s. 166.236, F.S., relating to a

  9         public-records exemption for information

10         received by a taxing authority in connection

11         with such an audit; providing an effective

12         date.

14  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

15  

16         Section 1.  Section 36 of chapter 2001-140, Laws of

17  Florida, is repealed.

18         Section 2.  Section 166.236, Florida Statutes, is

19  repealed.

20         Section 3.  This act shall take effect October 1, 2007.

23                          SENATE SUMMARY

24    Repeals s. 36, ch. 2001-140, Laws of Florida, which
      authorizes a local government to conduct audits for the
25    purpose of ensuring compliance with provisions imposing
      the public service tax. Repeals a public-records
26    exemption for information received by a taxing authority
      in connection with such an audit.
