  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the Florida Recreation

  3         Development Assistance Program; amending s.

  4         375.075, F.S.; increasing the maximum amount of

  5         a project grant which may be awarded to a local

  6         government under the program; increasing the

  7         number of grant applications a local government

  8         may submit; providing an effective date.

10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11  

12         Section 1.  Subsection (3) of section 375.075, Florida

13  Statutes, is amended to read:

14         375.075  Outdoor recreation; financial assistance to

15  local governments.--

16         (3)  A local government may submit up to three two

17  grant applications during each application period announced by

18  the department. However, a local government may not have more

19  than four three active projects expending grant funds during

20  any state fiscal year. The maximum project grant for each

21  project application may not exceed $500,000 $200,000 in state

22  funds.

23         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

24  law.

26          STATEMENT OF SUBSTANTIAL CHANGES CONTAINED IN
                       COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR
27                         Senate Bill 1494

29  The committee substitute increases the number of grant
    applications a local government may submit during each
30  application period from two to three. The committee substitute
    also increases the number of active projects a local
31  government may have during any state fiscal year from three to
    four.
