  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to health care; amending s.

  3         408.50, F.S.; requiring that a health care

  4         provider charge certain uninsured patients the

  5         lowest fee for a service that would be accepted

  6         if all or a portion of the payment were made by

  7         an insurer; providing an effective date.

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

10  

11         Section 1.  Subsection (4) is added to section 408.50,

12  Florida Statutes, to read:

13         408.50  Prospective payment arrangements.--

14         (4)  A health care provider shall charge each uninsured

15  patient having a net household income of less than $125,000

16  the lowest fee for a service which the physician has agreed to

17  accept as full payment for the same service when all or a

18  portion of the payment for that same service is made through

19  an insurer.

20         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

21  law.
