11 The Committee on Regulated Industries (Hill) recommended the
12 following amendment:

14 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
15 Delete everything after the enacting clause
16
17 and insert:
18 Section 1. Subsection (5) is added to section 509.211,
19 Florida Statutes, to read:
20 509.211 Safety regulations.--
21 (5) Every enclosure with boilers or other machinery
22 generating carbon monoxide in a public lodging establishment
23 shall be equipped with one or more carbon monoxide sensor
24 devices that bear the label of a nationally recognized testing
25 laboratory and have been tested and listed as complying with
26 the most recent Underwriters Laboratories, Inc., Standard
27 2034, or its equivalent, unless it is determined that no
28 potential carbon monoxide hazard exists for a unit. Such
29 devices shall be integrated with the public lodging
30 establishment's fire detection system. Any such installation
31 or determination shall be made in accordance with rules

15 effective date.
