1	A bill to be entitled
2	An act relating to building code inspectors; creating s.
3	468.634, F.S.; providing that a certified building code
4	inspector needs no other licensure or certification to
5	perform as a building code inspector; amending s. 553.73,
6	F.S.; prohibiting local governments from adopting
7	amendments to the Florida Building Code that conflict with
8	the requirements of s. 468.634, F.S.; providing an
9	effective date.

11	Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

13	Section 1.  Section 468.634, Florida Statutes, is created
14	to read:
15	468.634  Certified building code inspector work scope.--A
16	building code inspector certified under this part needs no other
17	licensure or certification to perform work within the scope of
18	his or her certification under this part.
19	Section 2.  Paragraph (d) is added to subsection (4) of
20	section 553.73, Florida Statutes, to read:
21	553.73  Florida Building Code.--

23	(d)  No local government may adopt an amendment to the
24	Florida Building Code that conflicts with s. 468.634.
25	Section 3.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2007.
