  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to child welfare professionals;

  3         designating the second Monday in May as "Child

  4         Welfare Professionals Recognition Day";

  5         providing an effective date.

  7  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  8  

  9         Section 1.  Beginning in May 2007, the Legislature

10  designates the second Monday in May as "Child Welfare

11  Professionals Recognition Day" to recognize the efforts of all

12  professionals who work with abused children and dysfunctional

13  families. The Department of Children and Family Services,

14  local governments, and other agencies are encouraged to

15  sponsor events to promote awareness of the child welfare

16  system and the personnel who work in the system.

17         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

18  law.
