A bill to be entitled
2An act relating to group health insurance; authorizing
3certain businesses to provide group health insurance
4excluding certain required coverages for a certain time;
5requiring the business to convert after such period to
6insurance including certain required coverages or
7discontinue providing group coverage; providing an
8effective date.

10Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

12     Section 1.  Notwithstanding any required coverage
13provisions of part VII of chapter 627, Florida Statutes, any
14business that has not provided its employees with group health
15insurance for at least 1 year may provide group health insurance
16without the coverages required under part VII of chapter 627,
17Florida Statutes, for up to 3 years. At the end of the 3-year
18period, the business shall convert the group health insurance
19policy to one that provides all of the required coverages
20specified in part VII of chapter 627, Florida Statutes, or
21discontinue providing group coverage.
22     Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2007.
