1	House Concurrent Resolution
2	A concurrent resolution confirming the appointment of
3	David William Martin to the position of Auditor General.
4
5	WHEREAS, Section 2, Article III of the State Constitution
6	provides that the Legislature shall appoint an auditor to serve
7	at its pleasure, and
8	WHEREAS, by enactment of chapter 69-82, Laws of Florida,
9	the Legislature exercised that appointment by designating the
10	Auditor General chosen pursuant to section 11.42, Florida
11	Statutes, as the constitutional auditor required under Section
12	2, Article III of the State Constitution, and
13	WHEREAS, on March 26, 2007, the Joint Legislative Auditing
14	Committee appointed David William Martin to the position of
15	Auditor General effective October 1, 2007, and
16	WHEREAS, section 11.42, Florida Statutes, provides that the
17	appointment of the Auditor General must be confirmed by the
18	Senate and the House of Representatives, NOW, THEREFORE,
19
20	Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
21	Florida, the Senate Concurring:
22
23	That the appointment of David William Martin to the
24	position of Auditor General effective October 1, 2007, by the
25	Joint Legislative Auditing Committee under section 11.42,
26	Florida Statutes, is confirmed.
