1	A bill to be entitled
2	An act relating to the City of Lauderhill, Broward County;
3	adjusting the corporate limits of the City of Lauderhill
4	to include within, or exclude from, said corporate limits
5	a specified parcel and specified portions of rights-of-way
6	and to remedy the creation of an enclave; providing for
7	transfer of public roads and rights-of-way; providing for
8	certain powers over the annexed area; providing for
9	continuation of contracts in effect prior to annexation;
10	providing an effective date.

12	Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
13
14	Section 1.  The present corporate limits of the City of
15	Lauderhill, Broward County, are hereby contracted so as to
16	voluntarily deannex and exclude from the territory presently
17	within its corporate limits the area consisting of a commercial
18	parcel more commonly known as the Renaissance Evangelical
19	Baptist Tabernacle parking lot (Folio #504206010010), 3741 West
20	Broward Boulevard, together with a portion of the abutting
21	right-of-way on Broward Boulevard to be annexed into the City of
22	Plantation, particularly described as follows:

24	A portion of Broward Boulevard, lying in Section 6,
25	Township 50 South, Range 42 East, together with Lot
26	'G', Lot 10 and the West 90 feet of Lot 11 in Block 2
27	of BROWARD ESTATES, SECTION ONE, according to the Plat
28	thereof, recorded in Plat Book 33, Page 3, of the
29	Public Records of Broward County, Florida, being more
30	particularly described as follows:

32	BEGINNING at the intersection of the South line of
33	said Section 6 with the Southerly prolongation of the
34	centerline of N.W. 38th Way as shown on the plat of
35	BROWARD ESTATES Section 2, as recorded in Plat Book
36	34, Page 19, Public Records of Broward County,
37	Florida, said point being on the municipal boundary of
38	the City of Plantation, established by Chapter 68-101,
39	Laws of Florida and the Municipal Boundary, City of
40	Lauderhill as established by Ordinance No. 050-11-209
41	of the City of Lauderhill.

43	Thence continue along said municipal boundaries the
44	following 3 courses;

46	Thence North along the said Southerly prolongation of
47	the centerline of N.W. 38th Way to an intersection
48	with the North right-of-way line of Broward Boulevard,
49	said North right-of-way line being 50 feet North of
50	and parallel to the South line of said Section 6;

52	Thence Easterly along the said North right-of-way line
53	of Broward Boulevard to the Southeast corner of Tract
54	"E", as shown by BROWARD ESTATES Section 2;

56	Thence Northerly along the East line of said Tract "E"
57	to the Northeast corner of said Tract "E", said point
58	also being the Northwest corner of said Lot "G";

60	Thence Easterly on the North lines of said Lot 'G',
61	Lot 10 and Lot 11, to the intersection with the East
62	line of the West 90 feet of said Lot 11;

64	Thence Southerly along said East line and the
65	Southerly prolongation thereof to the intersection
66	with the South line of said Section 6, said line also
67	being on the municipal boundary of the City of Fort
68	Lauderdale as established by Chapter 2001-291, Laws of
69	Florida and the City of Lauderhill as established by
70	Ordinance No. 050-11-209 of the City of Lauderhill and
71	the municipal boundary of the City of Plantation,
72	established by Chapter 68-101, Laws of Florida;

74	Thence Westerly along said South line of Section 6 and
75	along said municipal boundary to the POINT OF
76	BEGINNING.

78	Section 2.  The present corporate limits of the City of
79	Lauderhill, Broward County, are hereby extended and enlarged so
80	as to voluntarily annex and include, in addition to the
81	territory presently within its corporate limits, the area
82	consisting of a portion of the right-of-way on N.W. 31st Avenue
83	from the City of Fort Lauderdale, particularly described as
84	follows:

86	A portion of Section 31, Township 49 South, Range 42
87	East being more particularly described as follows:

89	BEGINNING at the intersection of the South right-of-
90	way line of NW 19 Street and the West right-of-way
91	line of NW 31 Avenue, said point being on the
92	municipal boundary of the City of Fort Lauderdale, as
93	established by Chapter 69-1057, Laws of Florida and on
94	the municipal boundary of the City of Lauderhill as
95	established by Ordinance 040-10-220 of the City of
96	Lauderhill;

98	Thence Southerly on said municipal boundaries of the
99	City of Lauderhill and the City of Fort Lauderdale and
100	on said West right-of-way line of NW 31 Avenue, to the
101	intersection with the South line of the North One-Half
102	(N 1/2) of the North One-Half (N 1/2) of the Southeast
103	One-Quarter (SE 1/4) of said Section 31, Township 49
104	South, Range 42 East;

106	Thence Easterly on said municipal boundaries of the
107	City of Lauderhill and the City of Fort Lauderdale and
108	on said South line to the East line of said Section

112	to the intersection with the Easterly prolongation of
113	said South right-of-way line of NW 19 Street;

119	Section 3.  In order to remedy the creation of an enclave,
120	the present corporate limits of the City of Lauderhill, Broward
121	County, are hereby contracted so as to deannex and exclude from
122	the territory presently within its corporate limits a small
123	portion of the right-of-way on Sunrise Boulevard that was
124	erroneously annexed into the City of Lauderhill, particularly
125	described as follows:

127	A portion of the North 1/2 of Government Lot 1,
128	Section 6 of Township 50 South, Range 42 East being
129	more particularly described as follows:

131	BEGINNING at the Northeast corner of the Northeast
132	One-Quarter (NE 1/4) of said Section 6, Township 50
133	South, Range 42 East, said point being on the
134	corporate city limits of the City of Lauderhill as
135	established by Ordinance No. 040-10-219 of the City of
136	Lauderhill;

138	Thence Southerly on said municipal boundary and on the
139	East line of said Section 6 to a point on the
140	municipal boundary of the City of Lauderhill as
141	established by Ordinance No. 04-10-217 of the City of
142	Lauderhill;

144	Thence Westerly on said municipal boundary and on said
145	Easterly prolongation of the North line of Parcel 'A',
146	as shown by the plat of THUNDERBIRD SWAP SHOP III, as
147	recorded in Plat Book 142, Page 20 of the Public
148	Records of Broward County, Florida, to a point on the
149	West right-of-way line of NW 31st Avenue, said point
150	being on the municipal boundary of the City of
151	Lauderhill as established by Ordinance No. 040-10-219
152	of the City of Lauderhill;

155	said West right-of-way line of NW 31st Avenue to the
156	South right-of-way line of Sunrise Boulevard;

158	Thence Northwesterly and Westerly on said municipal
159	boundary and on said South right-of-way line of
160	Sunrise Boulevard to the intersection with the
161	Northerly prolongation of the East line of Parcel 'A',
162	as shown by said plat of THUNDERBIRD SWAP SHOP III;

164	Thence North on said Northerly prolongation of the
165	East line of Parcel 'A' to the intersection with the
166	North line of said Section 6, also being the North
167	line of said Government Lot 1;

169	Thence Easterly on said North line to the Northeast
170	corner of the Northeast One-Quarter (NE 1/4) of said
171	Section 6, said point also being the POINT OF
172	BEGINNING.

174	Section 4.  All public roads and the public rights-of-way
175	associated therewith, on the Broward County road system, lying
176	within the limits of the lands subject to annexation herein, are
177	transferred from Broward County jurisdiction to the jurisdiction
178	of the annexing municipality upon the effective date of the
179	annexation.
180	Section 5.  On the effective date of this act, the annexing
181	municipality shall be responsible for and embodied with all
182	municipal powers granted in chapter 166, Florida Statutes,
183	including, but not limited to, police powers, over the territory
184	hereby annexed.
185	Section 6.  Nothing in this act shall be construed to
186	affect or abrogate the rights of parties to any contracts,
187	including contracts between nongovernmental entities, which
188	contracts are in effect prior to the effective date of the
189	annexation.
190	Section 7.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
