| 10 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
| 11 |
|
| 12 | Section 1. Paragraph (b) of subsection (1) of section |
| 13 | 200.185, Florida Statutes, is amended to read: |
| 14 | 200.185 Maximum millage rates for the 2007-2008 and 2008- |
| 15 | 2009 fiscal years.-- |
| 16 | (1) As used in this section, the term: |
| 17 | (b) "Municipality of special financial concern" means a |
| 18 | municipality within a county of special financial concern or a |
| 19 | municipality that has been at any time since June 30, 2002, 2001 |
| 20 | in a state of financial emergency pursuant to s. 218.503. |
| 21 | Section 2. For purposes of determining maximum millage |
| 22 | rates for the 2008-2009 fiscal year pursuant to s. |
| 23 | 200.185(5)(a), Florida Statutes, or s. 200.186(1)(a), Florida |
| 24 | Statutes, a municipality that, as a result of the application of |
| 25 | the amendment to s. 200.185(1)(b), Florida Statutes, made by |
| 26 | section 1, is no longer considered a municipality of special |
| 27 | financial concern under s. 200.185, Florida Statutes, shall be |
| 28 | treated as if the municipality had never been a municipality of |
| 29 | special financial concern. |
| 30 | Section 3. This act shall take effect November 1, 2007. |
