| 10 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
| 11 |

| 12 | Section 1. A 3-year pilot program is established to |
| 13 | provide high school students in two school districts in each of |
| 14 | the northern, middle, and southern regions of the state with |
| 15 | personal financial responsibility instruction. The goal of the |
| 16 | pilot program will be to ensure that high school students in |
| 17 | pilot program districts receive instruction on budgeting, saving |
| 18 | and investing, credit card debt, and other issues associated |
| 19 | with personal financial responsibility. The Commissioner of |
| 20 | Education shall develop a curriculum for the program and select |
| 21 | the school districts for participation in the program. At the |
| 22 | conclusion of the pilot program, the Commissioner of Education |
| 23 | shall report to the Governor, the President of the Senate, and |
| 24 | the Speaker of the House of Representatives on the feasibility |
| 25 | of implementing the program on a statewide basis. |
| 26 | Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2008. |
