The Committee on Transportation (Baker) recommended the

following amendment:

     (5)  Permit fees for businesses that participate in the

9

logo program must be established in an amount not less than that

10

sufficient to offset the total cost to the department for the

11

program, including contract costs. The department shall provide

12

the services in the most efficient and cost-effective manner

13

through department staff or by contracting for some or all of

14

the services. Such annual permit fee shall not exceed $1,250.

15

The department shall adopt rules that set annual permit fees at

16

a reasonable amount based on market demand. After recovering

17

program costs, the proceeds from the permit fees shall be

18

deposited into the State Transportation Trust Fund and used for

19

transportation purposes.
