An act relating to medical faculty certificates; amending

s. 458.3145, F.S.; authorizing the Department of Health to

4

issue a medical faculty certificate without an examination

5

to a person who has been offered and has accepted a full-

6

time faculty appointment to teach in a program of medicine

7

at Florida International University or the University of

8

Central Florida; providing an effective date.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

     Section 1.  Paragraph (i) of subsection (1) of section

13

458.3145, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:

14

     458.3145  Medical faculty certificate.--

15

     (1)  A medical faculty certificate may be issued without

16

examination to an individual who:

17

     (i)  Has been offered and has accepted a full-time faculty

18

appointment to teach in a program of medicine at:

19

     1.  The University of Florida,

20

     2.  The University of Miami,

21

     3.  The University of South Florida,

22

     4. The Florida State University, or

23

     5.  The Mayo Medical School at the Mayo Clinic in

24

Jacksonville, Florida,.

25

     6. Florida International University, or

26

     7. The University of Central Florida.

     Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2008.
