| 4 | Between lines 11 and 12, insert: | 
| 5 | (6)  The Department of Education and the Department of | 
| 6 | Environmental Protection shall, in coordination with | 
| 7 | representatives of the business community, the environmental | 
| 8 | community, and the energy community, develop a program to | 
| 9 | provide awards or recognition for outstanding efforts or | 
| 10 | achievements concerning conservation, energy and water use, | 
| 11 | cleaning solutions, pest management, recycling efforts, and | 
| 12 | curriculum consistent with efforts that enhance the quality of | 
| 13 | education while preserving the environment. Entities that are | 
| 14 | eligible for such an award or recognition include students, | 
| 15 | classes, teachers, schools, or district school boards. The | 
| 16 | Legislature encourages the Department of Education and the | 
| 17 | Department of Environmental Protection to form partnerships with | 
| 18 | the private sector which help fund the program. |
