| 2 | An act relating to licensure of psychologists; amending s. | 
| 3 | 490.005, F.S.; requiring the Board of Psychology to close | 
| 4 | application files of applicants failing to pass certain | 
| 5 | examinations, or failing to submit evidence of completion | 
| 6 | of postdoctoral supervised experience, within a specified | 
| 7 | timeframe; providing that an individual who completes the | 
| 8 | required postdoctoral training residency may continue to | 
| 9 | practice under supervision under certain conditions; | 
| 10 | providing an effective date. |

| 12 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: | 
| 13 | 
 | 
| 14 | Section 1.  Subsection (3) is added to section 490.005, | 
| 15 | Florida Statutes, to read: | 
| 16 | 490.005  Licensure by examination.-- | 
| 17 | (3)(a)  The board shall close the application file of any | 
| 18 | applicant who fails to pass the psychology licensure examination | 
| 19 | and the laws and rules examination, or fails to submit evidence | 
| 20 | of completion of the postdoctoral supervised experience, within | 
| 21 | a timeframe specified by the board in rule. | 
| 22 | (b)  An individual who completes the required postdoctoral | 
| 23 | training residency may continue to practice under supervision in | 
| 24 | a manner prescribed by the board by rule provided he or she has | 
| 25 | a current application on file and no final order of denial has | 
| 26 | been issued. | 
| 27 | Section 2.  This act shall take effect January 1, 2009. |
