| 7 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
| 8 |

| 9 | Section 1. By December 31, 2008, the Department of |
| 10 | Transportation shall complete a study to maximize the use of |
| 11 | alternative highway routes, including U.S. 301, for the travel |
| 12 | corridor parallel to Interstate 95. The report shall include, |
| 13 | but need not be limited to, identification of cost-effective |
| 14 | measures that may be implemented to alleviate congestion on |
| 15 | Interstate 95 by making other roadways more conducive to long- |
| 16 | distance, interstate traffic. |
| 17 | Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2008. |
