    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to art in public buildings; repealing
    3         s. 255.043, F.S., relating to a requirement that a
    4         specified portion of appropriations for new
    5         construction of state buildings be used for art;
    6         providing for the future reenactment of s. 255.043,
    7         F.S., and the reversion of the statutory text to that
    8         in effect before the repeal; prohibiting expenditures
    9         for public art during the interim without prior
   10         legislative approval; providing an effective date.

   12  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   13  
   14         Section 1. Section 255.043, Florida Statutes, is repealed.
   15         Section 2. Notwithstanding the repeal by this act of s.
   16  255,043, Florida Statutes, effective April 1, 2011, s. 255.043,
   17  Florida Statutes, is reenacted, and the text of that section
   18  shall revert to that in existence on June 30, 2009, except that
   19  any amendments to such text enacted other than by this act shall
   20  be preserved and continue to operate. In the interim, no
   21  expenditures for public art under that section shall occur
   22  without prior legislative approval.
   23         Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 2009.
