    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to political contributions; amending
    3         s. 106.08, F.S.; limiting the amount of contributions
    4         to electioneering communication organizations to a
    5         specified amount per person or committee; providing an
    6         effective date.

    8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
    9         
   10         Section 1. Paragraph (a) of subsection (1) of section
   11  106.08, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
   12         106.08 Contributions; limitations on.—
   13         (1)(a) Except for political parties, no person, political
   14  committee, or committee of continuous existence may, in any
   15  election, make contributions in excess of $500 to any candidate
   16  for election to or retention in office, or to any political
   17  committee supporting or opposing one or more candidates, or to
   18  any electioneering communication organization. Candidates for
   19  the offices of Governor and Lieutenant Governor on the same
   20  ticket are considered a single candidate for the purpose of this
   21  section.
   22         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2009.
