| 2 | An act relating to art in public buildings; repealing s. |
| 3 | 255.043, F.S., relating to a requirement that a specified |
| 4 | portion of appropriations for new construction of state |
| 5 | buildings be used for art; providing for the future |
| 6 | reenactment of s. 255.043, F.S., and the reversion of the |
| 7 | statutory text to that in effect before the repeal; |
| 8 | prohibiting expenditures for public art during the interim |
| 9 | without prior legislative approval; providing an effective |
| 10 | date. |

| 12 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
| 13 |
|
| 14 | Section 1. Section 255.043, Florida Statutes, is repealed. |
| 15 | Section 2. Notwithstanding the repeal by this act of s. |
| 16 | 255.043, Florida Statutes, effective April 1, 2011, s. 255.043, |
| 17 | Florida Statutes, is reenacted, and the text of that section |
| 18 | shall revert to that in existence on June 30, 2009, except that |
| 19 | any amendments to such text enacted other than by this act shall |
| 20 | be preserved and continue to operate. In the interim, no |
| 21 | expenditures for public art under that section shall occur |
| 22 | without prior legislative approval. |
| 23 | Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 2009. |
