    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to motor vehicle registration
    3         applications; amending s. 320.02, F.S.; directing the
    4         Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles to
    5         include language on each application form for
    6         registration and renewal of registration permitting a
    7         contribution to Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches, Inc.;
    8         requiring the department to transfer contributions
    9         collected each month to Florida Sheriffs Youth
   10         Ranches, Inc.; providing an effective date.

   12  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   13         
   14         Section 1. Paragraph (h) is added to subsection (15) of
   15  section 320.02, Florida Statutes, to read:
   16         320.02 Registration required; application for registration;
   17  forms.—

   19         (h) The application form for motor vehicle registration and
   20  renewal of registration must include language permitting a
   21  voluntary contribution of $1 to Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches,
   22  Inc. Such contributions must be transferred by the department
   23  each month to Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches, Inc., a not-for
   24  profit organization.
   25  For the purpose of applying the service charge provided in s.
   26  215.20, contributions received under this subsection are not
   27  income of a revenue nature.
   28         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2009.
