1	A bill to be entitled
2	An act relating to enterprise zones; creating s. 290.0078,
3	F.S.; authorizing the cities of Hollywood, Hallandale
4	Beach, Pembroke Park, and West Park to jointly apply to
5	the Office of Tourism, Trade, and Economic Development for
6	designation of a single enterprise zone; providing an
7	application deadline; providing requirements for the area
8	of the enterprise zone; requiring the office to establish
9	the effective date of the enterprise zone; providing an
10	effective date.

12	Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

14	Section 1.  Section 290.0078, Florida Statutes, is created
15	to read:
16	290.0078  Joint enterprise zone designation for the City of
17	Hollywood, the City of Hallandale Beach, the City of Pembroke
18	Park, and the City of West Park.--The City of Hollywood, the
19	City of Hallandale Beach, the City of Pembroke Park, and the
20	City of West Park may jointly apply to the Office of Tourism,
21	Trade, and Economic Development for designation of a single
22	enterprise zone encompassing an area not to exceed 20 square
23	miles. The application must be submitted by December 31, 2009,
24	and must comply with the requirements of s. 290.0055.
25	Notwithstanding the provisions of s. 290.0065 limiting the total
26	number of enterprise zones designated and the number of
27	enterprise zones within a population category, the Office of
28	Tourism, Trade, and Economic Development may designate a single
29	enterprise zone under this section. The Office of Tourism,
30	Trade, and Economic Development shall establish the initial
31	effective date of the enterprise zone designated pursuant to
32	this section.
33	Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2009.
