A bill to be entitled
2An act relating to enterprise zones; creating s. 290.0078,
3F.S.; authorizing the cities of Hollywood, Hallandale
4Beach, Pembroke Park, and West Park to jointly apply to
5the Office of Tourism, Trade, and Economic Development for
6designation of a single enterprise zone; providing an
7application deadline; providing requirements for the area
8of the enterprise zone; requiring the office to establish
9the effective date of the enterprise zone; providing an
10effective date.

12Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

14     Section 1.  Section 290.0078, Florida Statutes, is created
15to read:
16     290.0078  Joint enterprise zone designation for the City of
17Hollywood, the City of Hallandale Beach, the City of Pembroke
18Park, and the City of West Park.--The City of Hollywood, the
19City of Hallandale Beach, the City of Pembroke Park, and the
20City of West Park may jointly apply to the Office of Tourism,
21Trade, and Economic Development for designation of a single
22enterprise zone encompassing an area not to exceed 20 square
23miles. The application must be submitted by December 31, 2009,
24and must comply with the requirements of s. 290.0055.
25Notwithstanding the provisions of s. 290.0065 limiting the total
26number of enterprise zones designated and the number of
27enterprise zones within a population category, the Office of
28Tourism, Trade, and Economic Development may designate a single
29enterprise zone under this section. The Office of Tourism,
30Trade, and Economic Development shall establish the initial
31effective date of the enterprise zone designated pursuant to
32this section.
33     Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2009.
