       Senators Deutch, Aronberg, Wise, Gaetz, and Storms moved the
       following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)

    3         Between lines 296 and 297
    4  insert:
    5         Section 8. Veterans’ Appreciation Week.—
    6         (1) Each school district shall observe November 11 of each
    7  year as Veterans’ Day and shall observe that week as Veterans’
    8  Appreciation Week. In any year in which November 11 falls on a
    9  Saturday or Sunday, Veterans’ Appreciation Week shall be
   10  observed the week immediately preceding or following November
   11  11, to coincide with the date that Veterans’ Day is observed as
   12  a federal holiday.
   13         (2) During Veterans’ Appreciation Week, the district shall
   14  provide programs that instruct students on the role of veterans
   15  in the history of our state and country and shall recognize the
   16  contributions made by veterans to our state and country.
