       Senator Aronberg moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Between lines 378 and 379
    4  insert:
    5         Section 7. Paragraph (a) of subsection (2) of section
    6  334.30, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
    7         334.30 Public-private transportation facilities.—The
    8  Legislature finds and declares that there is a public need for
    9  the rapid construction of safe and efficient transportation
   10  facilities for the purpose of traveling within the state, and
   11  that it is in the public’s interest to provide for the
   12  construction of additional safe, convenient, and economical
   13  transportation facilities.
   14         (2) Agreements entered into pursuant to this section may
   15  authorize the private entity to impose tolls or fares for the
   16  use of the facility. The following provisions shall apply to
   17  such agreements:
   18         (a) With the exception of the Florida Turnpike System, the
   19  department may lease existing toll facilities through public
   20  private partnerships, subject to approval by the Legislature.
   21  The public-private partnership agreement must ensure that the
   22  transportation facility is properly operated, maintained, and
   23  renewed in accordance with department standards.

   28  and insert:
   29         that are not in the Interstate Highway System;
   30         amending s. 334.30, F.S.; authorizing the department
   31         to lease existing toll facilities through public
   32         private partnerships, subject to approval by the
   33         Legislature;
