       The Policy and Steering Committee on Ways and Means (Altman)
       recommended the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment 
    2  
    3         Delete lines 124 - 126
    4  and insert:
    5         (8) Except for the authority granted to the Governor in
    6  section 7 of this act, the authority granted to the Governor by
    7  this act expires at 11:59 p.m. on August 31, 2009.
    8         (9) Before entering into the compact, the Governor shall
    9  verify and ensure that the Tribe has the capacity to make the
   10  periodic revenue sharing payments required by this act, and that
   11  the Tribe is reasonably expected to reach a minimum of $1.37
   12  billion in net win during at least the first three revenue
   13  sharing cycles.
   14         (10) The compact shall also require that the Governor and
   15  the Tribe will use their best efforts to obtain the approval of
   16  the compact by the United Sates Department of the Interior.
