    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to a police technology fee; creating
    3         s. 938.135, F.S.; requiring a specified fee to be
    4         imposed in addition to other costs or fees for
    5         conviction of specified offenses; providing for
    6         deposit of funds; providing an effective date.

    8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
    9         
   10         Section 1. Section 938.135, Florida Statutes, is created to
   11  read:
   12         938.135 Possession of controlled substances or driving or
   13  boating under the influence; police technology fee.—In addition
   14  to any other court costs or fees, a court cost of $50 shall be
   15  imposed for any conviction for possession of a controlled
   16  substance in violation of s. 893.13(1)(a) and a court cost of
   17  $50 shall be added to any fine imposed pursuant to s. 316.193 or
   18  s. 327.35. The fee shall be deposited into the Police Technology
   19  Trust Fund created in s. 943.082.
   20         Section 2. This act shall take effect October 1, 2009.
