       Senator Ring moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Between lines 114 and 115
    4  insert:
    5         (8) The provisions of this chapter do not impair a
    6  claimant’s right to contract with an attorney for representation
    7  in connection with a claim under this chapter; however, an
    8  attorney may not recover attorney’s fees from a claimant on
    9  benefits secured for which attorney’s fees have been paid by a
   10  carrier or employer under this section.

   13         And the title is amended as follows:
   14         Delete line 7
   15  and insert:
   16         carrier or employer; providing that a claimant has the
   17         right to contract with an attorney for representation;
   18         restricting the recovery of attorney’s fees by an
   19         attorney representing a claimant; providing an
   20         effective date.
