| 12 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
| 13 |
|
| 14 | Section 1. Subsection (7) is added to section 1006.07, |
| 15 | Florida Statutes, to read: |
| 16 | 1006.07 District school board duties relating to student |
| 17 | discipline and school safety.-The district school board shall |
| 18 | provide for the proper accounting for all students, for the |
| 19 | attendance and control of students at school, and for proper |
| 20 | attention to health, safety, and other matters relating to the |
| 21 | welfare of students, including: |
| 22 | (7) SUICIDE PREVENTION EDUCATION.-Beginning with the 2010- |
| 23 | 2011 school year, provide all instructional and administrative |
| 24 | personnel with access to educational resources regarding suicide |
| 25 | prevention which are approved by the Statewide Office of Suicide |
| 26 | Prevention. School personnel who choose to participate in |
| 27 | suicide prevention training shall receive inservice credit |
| 28 | hours, the amount of which shall be determined by each district |
| 29 | school board. |
| 30 | Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2010. |
