2An act relating to leaves of absence for state officers
3and employees engaged in military training; amending s.
4115.07, F.S.; increasing the number of hours granted as a
5leave of absence to a state officer or employee engaged in
6military training; providing an effective date.

8Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

10     Section 1.  Subsection (2) of section 115.07, Florida
11Statutes, is amended to read:
12     115.07  Officers and employees' leaves of absence for
13reserve or guard training.--
14     (1)  All officers or employees of the state, of the several
15counties of the state, and of the municipalities or political
16subdivisions of the state who are commissioned reserve officers
17or reserve enlisted personnel in the United States military or
18naval service or members of the National Guard are entitled to
19leaves of absence from their respective duties, without loss of
20vacation leave, pay, time, or efficiency rating, on all days
21during which they are engaged in training ordered under the
22provisions of the United States military or naval training
23regulations for such personnel when assigned to active or
24inactive duty.
25     (2)  Leaves of absence granted as a matter of legal right
26under the provisions of this section shall not exceed 30 17
27working days in any one annual period. Administrative leaves of
28absence for additional or longer periods of time for assignment
29to duty functions of a military character shall be without pay
30and shall be granted by the employing or appointing authority of
31any state, county, municipal, or political subdivision employee
32and when so granted shall be without loss of time or efficiency
33rating.
34     Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2010.
