    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to state park fees; amending s.
    3         258.016, F.S.; authorizing the Division of Recreation
    4         and Parks of the Department of Environmental
    5         Protection to waive or reduce certain state park fees
    6         for state residents 62 years of age or older;
    7         providing an effective date.

    9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   10  
   11         Section 1. Section 258.016, Florida Statutes, is amended to
   12  read:
   13         258.016 Fee reductions Senior/disabled citizen camping
   14  permit.—The Division of Recreation and Parks is authorized to:
   15         (1) Waive the entrance fee to state parks on weekdays,
   16  except for weekdays that are also state holidays. Such fees
   17  shall be waived for state residents who are at least 62 years of
   18  age or older and who possess a state driver’s license or state
   19  identification card.
   20         (2) Reduce the activity fees at state parks. Such fees
   21  shall be reduced 50 percent for state residents who are at least
   22  62 years of age or older and who possess a state driver’s
   23  license or state identification card.
   24         (3) Issue a senior/disabled resident citizen camping
   25  permit. This permit shall be available free of charge to state
   26  residents Florida citizens who are at least 65 years of age or
   27  older or who possess Florida citizens possessing a current
   28  social security disability award certificate or a 100 percent
   29  disability award certificate from the Federal Government. The
   30  permit allows shall allow the person named and one companion to
   31  receive a 50 percent discount on current base campsite fees at
   32  Florida state parks.
   33         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2010.
