| 10 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
| 11 |
|
| 12 | Section 1. Subsection (1) of section 377.806, Florida |
| 13 | Statutes, is amended to read: |
| 14 | 377.806 Solar Energy System Incentives Program.- |
| 15 | (1) PURPOSE.-The Solar Energy System Incentives Program is |
| 16 | established within the commission to provide financial |
| 17 | incentives for the purchase and installation of solar energy |
| 18 | systems. Any resident of the state who purchases and installs a |
| 19 | new solar energy system of 2 kilowatts or larger for a solar |
| 20 | photovoltaic system, a solar energy system that provides at |
| 21 | least 50 percent of a building's hot water consumption for a |
| 22 | solar thermal system, or a solar thermal pool heater, from July |
| 23 | 1, 2006, through June 30, 2015 2010, is eligible for a rebate on |
| 24 | a portion of the purchase price of that solar energy system. |
| 25 | Section 2. For the 2010-2011 fiscal year, the sum of $15 |
| 26 | million in nonrecurring funds is appropriated from the General |
| 27 | Revenue Fund to the Department of Environmental Protection for |
| 28 | the purpose of funding commercial and consumer solar incentives |
| 29 | authorized in s. 377.806, Florida Statutes. |
| 30 | Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 2010. |
