    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to state park entrance fees; creating
    3         s. 258.0145, F.S.; providing discounts on annual
    4         passes for members and veterans of the United States
    5         Armed Forces and reserve forces and for surviving
    6         spouses of certain veterans; providing an effective
    7         date.

    9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   10  
   11         Section 1. Section 258.0145, Florida Statutes, is created
   12  to read:
   13         258.0145 State park fee discounts for military personnel.
   14  The Division of Recreation and Parks shall provide the following
   15  discounts on park fees to persons who present written
   16  documentation satisfactory to the division which evidences their
   17  eligibility for the discounts:
   18         (1) Active duty members and honorably discharged veterans
   19  of the United States Armed Forces or reserve components,
   20  including the National Guard, shall receive a 25 percent
   21  discount on annual entrance passes.
   22         (2) Honorably discharged veterans who have service
   23  connected disabilities shall receive lifetime family annual
   24  entrance passes at no charge.
   25         (3) Surviving spouses of deceased members of the United
   26  States Armed Forces or reserve components, including the
   27  National Guard, who have fallen in combat shall receive lifetime
   28  family annual entrance passes at no charge.
   29         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2010.
