    1                          Senate Resolution                        
    2         A resolution recognizing June 2010 as “Recreational
    3         Vehicle and Camping Month” in Florida.
    4  
    5         WHEREAS, the Recreational Vehicle Industry is celebrating
    6  100 years of American enjoyment of recreational vehicles, and
    7         WHEREAS, 1 in 12 American households owns a recreational
    8  vehicle, and
    9         WHEREAS, recreational vehicles allow families to build
   10  stronger relationships and explore the great outdoors, and
   11         WHEREAS, travel in a recreational vehicle offers freedom,
   12  comfort, and flexibility to see all of the United States, from
   13  historic landmarks to national and state parks, and
   14         WHEREAS, Florida ranks third in the number of recreational
   15  vehicle shipments and is home to the largest recreational
   16  vehicle show in the nation, the RV SuperShow, in Tampa, and
   17         WHEREAS, the State of Florida has more than 900 licensed
   18  recreational vehicle parks and campgrounds, with more than
   19  120,000 licensed recreational vehicle sites, and
   20         WHEREAS, the State of Florida consistently ranks as the
   21  nation’s best and most popular recreational vehicle and camping
   22  destination, and
   23         WHEREAS, more than 5 million people camp in Florida each
   24  year, generating more than $5 billion for the state’s economy,
   25  and
   26         WHEREAS, 20 percent of all auto visitors to Florida either
   27  camp or travel in a recreational vehicle, and
   28         WHEREAS, the 100th Anniversary of the introduction of the
   29  recreational vehicle into the American marketplace will be
   30  celebrated June 7, 2010, at the RV/MH Hall of Fame in Elkhart,
   31  Indiana, NOW, THEREFORE,

   33  Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:
   34  
   35         That June 2010 is recognized as “Recreational Vehicle and
   36  Camping Month” in Florida.
