    1                          Senate Resolution                        
    2         A resolution recognizing the outstanding professional
    3         accomplishments of Robert R. Harris, CPA/CFF.
    4  
    5         WHEREAS, Robert R. Harris became licensed as a Florida
    6  Certified Public Accountant in 1977, went on to found Harris,
    7  Cotherman, Jones, Price, and Associates, CPAs, chartered in Vero
    8  Beach, and has continuously practiced as a certified public
    9  accountant in this state for 32 years, and
   10         WHEREAS, Robert R. Harris served as president of the
   11  Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants from 1990 to
   12  1991 and was a member of the Institute’s Board of Governors for
   13  16 years, and
   14         WHEREAS, Robert R. Harris has dedicated countless volunteer
   15  service hours to nurture and better Florida’s Accounting
   16  professionalism and profession, was named one of the “100 Most
   17  Influential People in the Accounting Profession,” and serves as
   18  a trusted advisor to the Florida Institute of Certified Public
   19  Accountants and Floridians, and
   20         WHEREAS, Robert R. Harris has aided Certified Public
   21  Accountants in this state and across the nation for 15 years as
   22  a member of the American Institute of Certified Public
   23  Accountants’ governing council, serving on and leading numerous
   24  committees, including service as chairperson of the National
   25  Accreditation Commission, which oversees the Institute’s four
   26  specialized credentials, and as council vice chairperson, and
   27         WHEREAS, on October 20, 2009, Robert R. Harris was the
   28  first Floridian to become chairperson of the American Institute
   29  of Certified Public Accountants, NOW, THEREFORE,

   31  Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:
   32  
   33         That the Senate recognizes the outstanding professional
   34  accomplishments of Robert R. Harris, CPA/CFF, and congratulates
   35  him on his selection as chairperson of the American Institute of
   36  Certified Public Accountants.
   37         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution, with
   38  the Seal of the Senate affixed, be presented to Robert R.
   39  Harris, CPA/CFF, as a tangible token of the sentiments of the
   40  Florida Senate.
