A bill to be entitled
2An act relating to legislative advisory bodies; repealing
3ss. 13.01, 13.02, 13.03, 13.04, 13.05, 13.06, 13.07,
413.08, and 13.09, F.S., relating to the Florida Commission
5on Interstate Cooperation, the Senate Committee on
6Interstate Cooperation, the House of Representatives
7Committee on Interstate Cooperation, the Joint Legislative
8Committee on Interstate Cooperation, the Governor's
9Committee on Interstate Cooperation, informal designations
10of such legislative committees and the Florida Commission
11on Interstate Cooperation, the functions, powers, and
12duties of the commission, and the Council of State
13Governments, respectively; renumbering s. 13.10, F.S.,
14relating to state commissioners to the National Conference
15of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws; repealing part II
16of ch. 13, F.S., relating to the Florida Legislative Law
17Revision Council; amending s. 590.33, F.S.; revising
18provisions for the appointment of members to the
19Southeastern Interstate Forest Fire Protection Compact to
20conform to changes made by the act; providing an effective
21date.

23Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

25     Section 1.  Sections 13.01, 13.02, 13.03, 13.04, 13.05,
2613.06, 13.07, 13.08, and 13.09, Florida Statutes, are repealed.
27     Section 2.  Section 13.10, Florida Statutes, is renumbered
28as section 14.35, Florida Statutes.
29     Section 3.  Sections 13.90, 13.91, 13.92, 13.93, 13.94,
3013.95, 13.96, 13.97, 13.98, 13.99, 13.992, 13.993, 13.994,
3113.995, and 13.996, Florida Statutes, are repealed.
32     Section 4.  Section 590.33, Florida Statutes, is amended to
33read:
34     590.33  State compact administrator; compact advisory
35committee.-In pursuance of art. III of the compact, the director
36of the division shall act as compact administrator for Florida
37of the Southeastern Interstate Forest Fire Protection Compact
38during his or her term of office as director, and his or her
39successor as compact administrator shall be his or her successor
40as director of the division. As compact administrator he or she
41shall be an ex officio member of the advisory committee of the
42Southeastern Interstate Forest Fire Protection Compact, and
43chair ex officio of the Florida members of the advisory
44committee. There shall be four members of the Southeastern
45Interstate Forest Fire Protection Compact Advisory Committee
46from Florida. Two of the members from Florida shall be members
47of the Legislature of Florida, one from the Senate and one from
48the House of Representatives, designated by the Florida
49Commission on Interstate Cooperation, and the terms of any such
50members shall terminate at the time they cease to hold
51legislative office, and their successors as members shall be
52named in like manner. The Governor shall appoint the other two
53members from Florida, one of whom shall be associated with
54forestry or forest products industries. The terms of such
55members shall be 3 years and such members shall hold office
56until their respective successors shall be appointed and
57qualified. Vacancies occurring in the office of such members
58from any reason or cause shall be filled by appointment by the
59Governor for the unexpired term. The director of the division as
60compact administrator for Florida may delegate, from time to
61time, to any deputy or other subordinate in his or her
62department or office, the power to be present and participate,
63including voting as his or her representative or substitute at
64any meeting of or hearing by or other proceeding of the compact
65administrators or of the advisory committee. The terms of each
66of the initial four memberships, whether appointed at said time
67or not, shall begin upon the date upon which the compact shall
68become effective in accordance with art. II of said compact. Any
69member of the advisory committee may be removed from office by
70the Governor upon charges and after a hearing.
71     Section 5.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
