Senator Benacquisto moved the following:

4 insert:
5 Section 1. (1) School districts are encouraged to enter
6 into partnerships with local businesses for purposes of
7 mentorship opportunities, the development of employment options
8 and additional funding sources, and other mutual benefits.
9 (2) As a pilot program through June 30, 2013, the Palm
10 Beach County school district may recognize its business partners
11 by publicly displaying their names on school district property
12 in the unincorporated areas. Project Graduation and athletic
13 sponsorships are examples of appropriate recognition. The
14 district shall make every effort to display its business
15 partners’ names in a manner that is consistent with the county
16 standards for uniformity in size, color, and placement of signs.
17 If the provisions of this section are inconsistent with the
18 county ordinances or regulations relating to signs in the
19 unincorporated areas or inconsistent with chapter 125, chapter
20 166, or chapter 479, Florida Statutes, the provisions of this
21 section shall prevail.
