       Senator Margolis moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment to Amendment (404618) (with title
    2  amendment)

    4         Between lines 46 and 47
    5  insert:
    6         Section 4. Paragraph (a) of subsection (1) and subsection
    7  (2) of section 97.055, Florida Statutes, are amended to read:
    8         97.055 Registration books; when closed for an election.—
    9         (1)(a) The registration books must be closed on the 10th
   10  29th day before each election and must remain closed until after
   11  that election. If an election is called and there are fewer than
   12  10 29 days before that election, the registration books must be
   13  closed immediately.
   14         (2) In computing the 10-day 29-day period for the closing
   15  of the registration books, the day of the election is excluded
   16  and all other days are included. If the 10th 29th day before
   17  preceding an election falls on a Sunday or a legal holiday, the
   18  registration books must be closed on the next day that is not a
   19  Sunday or a legal holiday.
