       The Committee on Health Regulation (Bennett) recommended the
       following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Between lines 34 and 35
    4  insert:
    5         Section 2. Subsection (3) is added to section 466.013,
    6  Florida Statutes, to read:
    7         466.013 Renewal of license.—
    8         (3) A licensed dentist shall complete at least six months
    9  of direct patient care in an underserved community, as defined
   10  by the department, within the dentist's first two years of
   11  licensure, if the licensed dentist was eligible to take the
   12  examinations required in s. 466.006, because he or she had
   13  maintained his or her dental license in good standing in another
   14  state for 3 years immediately before applying to take the
   15  required examinations. The licensed dentist shall provide proof
   16  of such direct patient care in an underserved community to the
   17  department and the department shall verify that six months of
   18  direct patient care in an underserved community have been
   19  provided by the licensed dentist in order for the dentist to be
   20  eligible for the first biennial renewal of his or her license.

   23         And the title is amended as follows:
   24         Delete line 8
   25  and insert:
   26         such examinations; amending s. 466.013, F.S.;
   27         requiring a dentist licensed under certain conditions
   28         to perform six months of direct patient care in an
   29         underserved community to be eligible for licensure
   30         renewal; providing an effective date.
